Two of the deceased were identified as Billal Hossain Bhuiyan, 35, and his sister Nipa Akhter, 40, of Pir Jatrapur area under the same upazilae.

Officer-in-charge of Mainamati Crossing Highway Police Station Safayet Hossain said the Sylhet-bound truck collided with the Mainamati cantonment-bound human hauler (Leguna) on the highway at Horindhora around 11:30am, leaving two human hauler passengers dead on the spot and seven other passengers injured.The injured were taken to Cumilla Medical College Hospital where doctors declared two of the injured dead, he said.
